BLACKOUT BABY I could have gone to Santa Fe but for you, you kept me here anyway doing the dishes, doing the laundry. Love, I could have gone to town and had another life living with a country star, someone big in the country music scene but instead, here I am watching DVDs with you on a Friday night and my head is full of flights I could have taken. I could have taken my music elsewhere and changed my life for the better. But who knows whether it’d have been for the better? Who knows whether the weather would have been better? Who knows whether it’d have been for the better? Or whether I’d be back with my tail between my legs. How are you doing while you’re sat there thinking about your day? Getting your boss right out of your hair, watching some space launch, something Elon Musk did that didn’t quite work out right. In fact, the rocket blew up and oh it gave them a helluva fright and I guess they lost a lot of money in the procedure but what about me? I’ve also lost a lot of money in these procedures, our daily evenings.  Love, I wanna tell you that I really do care but, you know, I’ve a parallel life going on somewhere and I would really like to know a bit more about it and maybe you’d like to come along too, or perhaps not. Maybe that is not a really good idea because, you know, I could be hanging out with Tom Cruise or someone like that. Maybe not someone quite as mad into Scientology but hey, you know what I mean. Who would do? Let me think. Um, well, Javier Bardem. Hmm, a bit of a pot belly. You know I like my men Latino with a bit of passion running through their blood and that’s kind of a question when I look at you sat on the sofa eating barbecued wings. I hope they taste good. I turned vegetarian many, many years and I never had a taste for that. I know you like them dipped in curried sauce. I could be in Mexico with or without you. I could be there, walking around eating corn on the cob, eating prickly pear. Eating prickly pear into the sunlight. My eyes under shades like a blackout baby. Blackout baby. Looking for you. Looking for you…

Butterfly 03:28
BUTTERFLY Sometimes, love comes in unexpectedly, and it goes right on in and we are helpless in the face of it, and I want to know: did I do that to you not in a kind of manipulative way but in a beautiful way? Did you feel what I felt too? Did it come within like water running? Or was it slow for you? Or did you feel it too, the way I felt it? Or was it running through your blood, making peace with all you’ve done in your life, pummelling your grit and strife into beautiful butterflies? Fly, fly away, away, away. I want to touch you, love. I want to wake you up. Oh, and love you the way, love. You never, ever be loved like this before. And you never, you never be loved like this before. And you’ll never, you’ll never be loved like this before. And you’ll never, you’ll never be loved like this before. Oh, be loved like this before. Oh, be loved like this before. Oh, be loved like this before.

Pop Shield 08:09
POP SHIELD We were only human. I said something I shouldn’t have said to you. Oh, love, I would always love you but you know I don’t mean it like I should. Somehow, I got hurt and then it took my heart and made me kind of cold to anybody else, come in, and you were good. You know just what I need, you know how to treat me. I would have loved you like I should have done, but hey, life gets in the way. It runs its dark, dark, cruelty through our systems. I know that you are the one but I never let it come on because I do not want to lose equilibrium. You never said you were only going to stay a short, short time, I thought you’d be here for long. I never want to doubt the way you were with me, the way you held my body that night. And love, I want to be your woman more than in your dreams. Will you feel me IRL, so I find out what it means? This loving touch, that can fill me up when nothing really can fill our cup but us. And the flowers they do grow and the birds they do sing and my body it is yours, every bit of me. And I know that I was here to do something. I just search for that kind of meaning in every interaction, every walk down the street, every gaze caught in the middle, mid-flight. I am running away from only myself and all that I mean but my love you do it for me. If I could I’d plant a kiss right upon your mouth. It would haunt you forever, keep your dreaming bluer than the ocean where we swim in your dreams and mine and we can be our bodies, entwined. "I love you." Do you hear me saying it? Moving my lips close to the microphone, I am touching the pop shield. I want to be with you, but it never can be, we are thwarted too, we are thwarted eternally. So instead, I sing this song and I’ll dedicate it to you and your beautiful lips, how I’d kiss them what I’d do, if I only could be one day with you, just one day with you, just one day. What would I do with that day? Would it be as good as my imagination wants to believe or would it be a common let down? Who knows it’s hard to tell? But one thing I’d do for you is hold your hand by the riverside. I would whisper something (…) that you would never forget. I would hold your hand and I would take it to my chest and I would bring you closer love and you would do something real. And I would feel it in my body, tingling upside down, tingling inside out, tingling all the way. What do I want to say to you? What could you do for me anyway? This is not some kind of transactional relationship. We’re not quid pro quo, do that, and I’ll do that for you. We are better than that, and I would send you something you could never send me back. And I will only say to you that I will love you true, forever in my heart, my bones, my skin. There is a part of me for you and I hold you in my heart, and I always will, and there we'll never part.

Lunatic 04:32
LUNATIC Are you going to love me, love, or make me wait for you? Are you going to tell me something or do I have to do it for you? Are you going to wake me up inside with something good? Or will I need to call you up and send you a reminder? Are you going to realise that this is such a sweet thing? You and I we met in life and called it serendipity. Of all the people that we meet, we only meet so few and love, I’ve been lucky enough to meet you. All the words that arose when I looked into your eyes, they are on reserve, on standby. All the rainbows that flooded my bones, they are waiting for a rainy day, waiting to show their colours, love. And I know your better parts. And you know I’m too impulsive, you call me a lunatic. Oh, oh, perhaps I am. So what of it? ‘Cause you are too, you’re a lunatic. And I like it, I like it. ‘Cause you are too, you’re a lunatic. And I like it, I like it. And what will we do tonight? And what will we watch together? And will we go outside? Will you wake with me, love? Will you be a mad, mad, mad, mad, lunatic? Will you be a lunatic with me? I know you are crazy. You’re always holding it in. And I am not a woman like that. I’m a woman, don’t hold it in. I’m a woman of feelings, feelings. You’re a man who holds it back. .
