You tumbled. The way you moved. Lavender on your shoulders. And I was moved. The sky it was purple. You told me you were hurting and all that I saw when I awoke was the world. And we try to love one another like before and we try to love one another like before. And I see, I see gold in the shadows the stories old. The tree before me cascaded into liberty. And I hold your hand and I try to understand why we ended that day, before. And I can’t feel alive without you in my life. And you were my friend, my lover, let’s not pretend. I wake at the thought of you. I try to get through my day. I sleep in the stars that come through the ceiling in a thorny way. And I shelter in your memory and the beach that we walked at low tide and the shells, we picked and the words on which fought. And I know that I’ll be right, that I’ll get through this night.
